Security in Lewisham
Deptford and New Cross music venues, a student crowd, and Catford and Blackheath either side.
New Cross and Deptford run on live music and a young, largely student crowd, which makes welfare as much a part of the job as security. Our officers here are briefed to spot the person who needs water and a chair before they need an ambulance.
What we do in Lewisham

Local knowledge that matters
A student night is a welfare operation with a door attached. Drink spiking, lone walkers home and capacity in a small room cause most of the real incidents, and all three are handled better by an officer briefed to look for them than by one told simply to watch the door.
